Cort Nickel, P.E., Project Manager
Cort has over 30 years of experience in municipal engineering focusing on water and wastewater utility work including water and wastewater treatment plants, water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, storage tanks and metering/PRV vaults. Cort is very adept at Master Planning and his strengths include surveying, studies, designs and specifications, permitting, contract administration, public meetings, and construction phase services.
Jim Huiting, P.E., Senior Engineer
Jim has over 32 years of experience in civil, water resources mining and environmental engineering with expertise in project planning, hydrology and stormwater, process evaluation, hydraulics and controls, plant and appurtenances design, dams, sewer rehabilitation, sewer overflow investigations, modeling, and construction administration. His strengths include data evaluation, planning and reviewing preliminary plans, modeling, design, cost estimation, client correspondence, construction administration, and close out.
Mark Dahm, P.E., Senior Process Engineer
Mark has more than 25 years experience in the design and construction of municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment plants. His project experience in treatment facility projects includes design engineering, project management, engineering services during construction, and facility start up. His past responsibilities and project applications include experience with a wide range of wastewater and water treatment technologies, design of treatment facilities from 50 gpm to 16 MGD, design/troubleshooting and modification of plant subsystems and ancillary treatment equipment, regulatory compliance and permitting, and preparation of engineering reports and cost analyses in support of client decision-making.
Alex Khoshlafz, P.E., Senior Electrical Engineer
Alex has more than 26 years of experience with electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. Specifically, he has experience in the mining, water, wastewater, oil and gas, and industrial industries. His expertise includes configuration, testing, and start-up of multiple process monitoring and automation systems, electrical power distribution systems, motor control, lighting, and alarm systems, emergency/standby power generation, services during construction, system troubleshooting, start-up, and O&M manual preparation. He has previously designed instrumentation, control, and electrical system upgrades for Metro Wastewater Reclamation District, City of Northglenn, and City of Aurora.
Phillip Sack, P.E., Senior Engineer
Phil has over 12 years of experience related to various capital improvements projects for mining, governmental, and municipal clients. He has experience with project management as well as planning, permitting, designing and constructing capital improvement projects that focus on water and wastewater engineering. Specifically, these projects have included water distribution systems, sewer collection systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, drinking water supply wells and storm water facilities. Phil also has experience completing and reviewing applications for determining compliance with CDPHE policies and regulations.
Nick Worley, P.E., Project Engineer
Nick has more than 8 years of water and wastewater engineering and construction experience in both the private and public sector. He has permitted, designed, and constructed many water and wastewater treatment plants for municipalities and private developers throughout the United States. His strengths include hydraulics, and biosolids treatment and processing.
Gail Lucas, Senior Resident Engineer, A Water Operator
Gail has 38 years of experience in design, construction administration, resident inspection and operation of water and wastewater facilities throughout Colorado, Oregon, and Washington both as engineering and a client representative. In addition to conducting daily operational tasks, Gail has worked with engineers to bring newly constructed facilities on-line. His project experience involves facility design, facility investigation, project administration, and resident inspection. He has also developed process-control spreadsheets, process-control procedures, troubleshooting manuals, and performed operator training.
Joseph Williams, P.E., Staff Engineer
Joe has over 16 years of consulting engineering experience in the planning, design, and construction of utility infrastructure projects, municipal wastewater treatment facilities, transportation projects, and civil/site development for public and private clientele. He also has experience as a municipal district engineer responsible for the development of district codes and standards, tap and usage fees, and review and compliance of construction plans and specifications regarding established codes and standards. His utility infrastructure design experience ranges from small diameter water distribution systems and sanitary sewer collection systems to large diameter transmission mains with several projects utilizing trenchless technologies such as pipe bursting, slip lining, micro tunneling, bore and jacking, or directional drilling methods. His municipal wastewater treatment facilities design experience includes plants ranging in size from 300,000 GPD to 105 MGD.
Steve Omer, EIT, A Water Operator, A Wastewater Operator, A Industrial Wastewater Operator
Steve has more than 8 years experience in the water and wastewater field. His process experience includes ion exchange, membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, and cyanide destruction methodologies. Steve's previous responsibilities have included operations and maintenance of facilities ranging from 10 gpm to 5 MGD. His current responsibilities include design, process optimization and I&C, hydraulic modeling, regulatory compliance and permitting, and preparation of engineering reports.
Nathan Martinson, P.E., Project Engineer
Nathan has over 5 years experience in several areas of wastewater engineering and design, including client-relationship management, budget management, hydraulic analysis, process and instrumentation diagrams, control narratives, odor control, and electrical design. He has served as the lead design engineer for three 1500 GPM closed loop clean water pumping systems and a 5 MGD wastewater lift station and force main.
Kee Venkatapathi, Process Engineer
Kee has 3 years of BioWin modeling experience. He previously worked as a wastewater plant operator intern for two months which steered him towards graduate studies in the water/wastewater industry. He is well versed in the calibration and validation of BioWin modeling. He recently developed models for the City of Durango, Town of Avon, City of Loveland, Littleton/Englewood, and Town of Erie. Kee is also a member of the Water Environment Federation. American Water Works Association, and Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association.
