Water and Wastewater Solutions for Growing Communities

FEI provides innovative solutions for water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure needs using a solid foundation of good engineering design and practice. We utilize creative design approaches to incorporate state-of-the-practice treatment processes, equipment, and materials into municipal, public and private design projects. We also strive to incorporate energy and water-efficient components in our projects, including micro-hydroelectric power generation, solar photovoltaic electricity generation, heat recovery systems, reuse, and passive daylighting into our projects to improve their sustainability.

Our engineering services also address the financial capacity needs of clients and funding requirements for their construction projects. This focus on innovation coupled with our dedication to delivering high-quality engineering services sets us apart from other professional engineering service providers.

Our current staff of six professional engineers has more than 100 years of combined planning and engineering experience and gives FEI a strong foundation from which we can deliver high-quality services and cost-effective solutions. Our experience in water and wastewater infrastructure evaluations, planning, design and construction administration ranges from new facilities to existing facility upgrades and renovations for small, privately-funded infrastructure projects as well as large scale, federally-funded treatment facility expansions.

FEI has managed and performed planning and design of water and wastewater projects throughout Colorado’s Front Range. Current projects include upgrading the St. Vrain Sanitation District’s existing lagoon wastewater treatment system with an oxidation ditch biological nutrient removal process; upgrading the City of Idaho Springs sequencing batch reactor UV disinfection system and headworks; and upgrading the Town of Georgetown’s wastewater plant using integrated fixed-film activated-sludge treatment and filtration for metal and phosphorus removal.
